Governance & Credibility

Holland Circular Hotspot Governance

Circular Hotspot events have been organised annually since 2016 under the guidance of Holland Circular Hotspot. The Asia Pacific Circular Economy Hotspot & Roundtable 2026 was selected by the global Holland Hotspot jury as the winning host for the 2026 event. Key to its success was the objective to empower businesses and government across Australia and the wider Asia Pacific region, uniting Pacific Island nations with Asia to strengthen the connection between Circular Economy and climate action while addressing pressing waste challenges.

Holland Circular Hotspot partners with hosting countries and cities to deliver these major events. The host country leads delivery, supported by governance agreements, standards and joint structures that define:

  • Shared objectives and outcomes
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Decision-making processes
  • Brand, narrative and reputation safeguards
  • Financial arrangements and risk allocation
  • IP, data and reporting obligations

Joint Steering Committee (Event-Specific)

For each major hosted event, a Joint Steering Committee is established, comprised of:

  • Senior representatives from Holland Circular Hotspot
  • Senior representatives from the host government or lead organisation
